Ski Boot Fitting

At solutions 4 feet this season we will have a larger more diverse range of performance & recreational ski boots along side our race range, we have over 19 years experience in fitting boots for all levels of skier from novice to professional athelete.

Having boots fitted at Solutions 4 Feet is not about picking a colour, it is about an in depth assessment of your feet and selecting the correct boot for your foot shape and your skiing ability, then adjusting the shape of the boot to give you the very best comfort and performance.  We have the most extensive ski boot workshop in the UK so if it can be done to a ski boot we have the tools and the skills to do the job.
One area we work on is the specific fitting of race boots for all levels of competitor. Look at the race boot fitting page for more information on our race boot service.

We offer a complete ski boot fitting service in our clinic. In our specialist workshop we have all the tools and materials required to cut, grind, stretch, align, adjust and generally fit boots to help improve comfort, reduce fatigue and increase performance.

Our experience has lead to us working with various professional skiers and teams including several BASI trainers & instructors the Scottish Alpine ski team, the England Alpine ski Team and members of the GB Alpine Ski Team.

We carry a large range of off the shelf and custom made footbeds & orthotics designed speicically for skiing so you can be sure to get a product that works for you.  The Superfeet products that we use are all made in a non weightbearing neutral position to give you the best support and comfort.
Skiing is one sport where every participant will benefit from an orthotic foot support of some type.

For skier alignment issues we work closely with Alpine McCannix using amongst other things  the shim balance system from foot foundation in Colorado USA. This system allows us to work inside the boot to help correct stance and alignment issues.  Muscle testing is carried out using your footbeds or orthotics on the neutralizer balance testing machine, this balance prescription is then combined with the angles which are built in to your boots to give you your optimum position for control and comfort.  SBS shims are then placed inside the boot to match the required angles your ski boots.  The difference that 0.5 degrees can make is quite remarkable.  Beyond this we can look at aligning the leg and boot relative to the ground.  This process can show up whether or not we need to look at under binding cants or sole planing. have a look at our skier balance and alignment page for further details.

Booster straps are a great way of improving the performance of your ski boots, we carry these elasticated power straps in stock  in three different flexes and can fit them securely to your boots for a minimal charge.
To get the very best fit and performance it may be worth considering a Zip Fit liner, this custom liner molds to your feet as you ski, to read more about these products click here!
